eFF stands for emotion-File-Finish, and is a cost effective software application that auto analyses, detects and fixes audio loudness violations in file-based media. eFF complies with the latest standards, based on ITU-R BS.1770 and BS.1771, and EBU R128.
eFF is a very easy to use application that reads a .wav, .aiff or .mov file, and writes a new version with the audio levels normalised up or down to meet specified PPM or Loudness value. So the output file is guaranteed to meet loudness requirements. As simple as that. No need to manually adjust levels. No need to convert the file to another format on the way. Just quick processing. With .mov files, the video is guaranteed untouched by this process.
It is a frequent requirement within Post to create multiple versions of the same material, to supply to different markets. If the loudness or PPM requirements for the different deliverables are not identical, it has been an inconvenient and slow process to adjust the audio, and is prone to operator error. Using eFF, this now becomes a trival process. And by pre-configuring eFF with the settings for different clients, there is much less scope for errors.
For users with large numbers of files, we now also offer eFF Enterprise, which supports hot folders, and includes xml reporting for confidence that files have been correctly processed. For tighter integration into other products, a comprehensive API will shortly be available.
eFF is available for Windows platforms, including XP and windows 7, and for Mac OS-X.
